Open doors...

“We are the party of the open door … we are the party of Lincoln, we are the party of the civil rights act.” RNC Chairman Reince Priebus

Ummm, no. The Civil Rights Act was proposed by JFK(D) and pushed through by LBJ(D). While the percentage of R votes for was slightly higher than D the percentages of nay votes were greater among both parties' Congressmen if they were from state that were in the Confederacy where the Dixiecrats had an overwhelming majority. Your employment of the Southern Strategy since the Civil Rights Act might give you an ironic claim to being motivated by the Civil Rights Act, using dog whistles to motivate those against the act to elect Republicans. It has sadly proven an effective tactic, most Confederate state Congressmen are (R).

Your platform also slams the door on anything other than Bible approved Marriage (as you read it). While you extoll the virtues of immigrants in that platform, your rhetoric and actions speak louder. The same irony is apparent in your call for "individual conscience in healthcare" while attempting to shut down women's reproductive rights and Planned Parenthood's education and screening services even though federal funding is denied their abortion services.

You have the Candidate you deserve, I could not be prouder of an insurgent group showing an establishment what it has wrought. The bloc you have cultivated with your misogynistic, fundamentalist, and yes, even racist dog whistles has created the perfect audience for the exclusionary ramblings of a totalitarian celebrity and his false promises. Trump is, despite all your protests, a wonderful representation of what your party has become and was chosen by the people you have attracted.

What can you say good about Hillary?

I was asked to say something good about Hillary today. Warning; rant ahead.

There's her stances. If you disagree, by all means vote against her. But...

While I doubt she will stop our descent into plutocracy she will prevent U.S. from becoming a theocracy. She has had to compromise all her life; politics is the art of compromise.

She continued to support her husband AND WORKED TO SAVE what most would cede to be a failed marriage.

She refused to compromise health care reform and turn it into the GOP plan which merely regulated insurance - a plan now call Romney'Obama Care.

Her positions have evolved. I'm old enough to understand that. It's easy to hate a ~~~~ if you don't know one. We live and learn.

She doesn't care if I'm Christian, nor what kind of Christian I am.

She doesn't promise what other countries will do because that would be the ultimate lie.

She doesn't pretend to want to build a dumbass wall, nor give me free college and medicine.

Climate science is real. The military, NOAA, and NASA are already planning for it. We should probably support that, and let FEMA and the CDC in on the plan.

She doesn't want to make medicine a crime.

She believes in strong borders against attacks, not victims.

Damn, and I don't really like her on a personal level.
